Make It Better Series: Sprinkles! Vegan option...

Sprinkles are fun (especially to celebrate a birthday!), but are filled with ingredients you do not want to eat. Purchasing the ‘natural’ sprinkles is very costly, so with a little bit of time for piping, you can make your own superior sprinkles for a fraction of the price. Plus they taste amazing! Not just sugary, but with strong flavors of chocolate, fruits…whatever you decide to make. Here is our recipe:

Chocolate Sprinkles, Vegan Version:

Will make about 4 ounces of sprinkles.

12 grams aquafaba

50 grams organic powder sugar

6-10 grams cocoa

Strawberry Sprinkles, Vegan Version:

Will make about 4 ounces of sprinkles.

12 grams aquafaba

8 grams freeze-dried strawberry powder

50 grams organic powder sugar

Sift dry ingredients and combine well with the aquafaba using spatula or in a mixer with the paddle attachment. It should be a thick consistency, not runny, but able to pipe. As purposely 😉 shown in the video, too think and you will need to add a gram or two of aquqfaba.

Pipe onto parchment using a Wilton #3 piping tip and let dry overnight. Transfer to a jar and give them a good shake. Store in the jar for up to 4 months.
